2W 2019 - 2020
Year 2 Teacher (2W)
Welcome to 2W!
Hi, I am Mrs Wilson and I have been teaching for 26 years. I began my teaching career here at Etchells, although I have since been in six other schools, both here in England and abroad. I have three girls of my own, having been married for 20 years. My daughters are now 18, 13 and 11 and all of my family enjoy travelling, as well as any form of outdoor pursuits such as canoeing and hiking - we have even been known to do a bungee jump or two!
I love teaching and have been very lucky to have been able to teach in every year group during my career. My favourite subjects are probably maths and art, though I also enjoy science and love to look at the many strange things that can be found in the world around us!
I am looking forward to another productive year, working alongside Mrs Collins, and we begin by looking at the life of plants. After this we will be studying the local area and carrying out fieldwork studies such as traffic surveys and interviews. Around half term we will be investigating how the area around school has changed during the last 150 years and will take a look at some of the lovely old Victorian buildings that surround us. In November we take a trip to Macclesfield Museum to find out what life was like for people living and working in mills during the Victorian Era. We will end the term on a high, with our much-anticipated Christmas production.
