3C 2018 - 2019
KS1 Phase Leader
Year 3 teacher (3C)
Hello and welcome to our class webpage!
I am Mrs Collins and I have been teaching at Etchells for 14 years! We have a wonderful team of people in Year 3 all ready to support your children on their learning journey.
I work closely with Mrs Townend and Mrs Lambert to plan lots of exciting lessons. Sometimes we will swap classes to teach subjects of which we have a better knowledge. On Tuesday afternoon the children are offered a range of enrichment activities and we will start with orienteering with Mrs Gunn and Mrs Heywood. Mrs Macfarlane will be teaching the class on Wednesday afternoons. We are very lucky to be welcoming Mrs Rumney as our Year 3 TA and she will be splitting her mornings between the two classes. Mrs Gunn will support some children on a Monday afternoon.
If you ever have anything you want to let me know or need to ask please do not hesitate in coming to see me before or after school or leave a message for me.
Please could all children have their outdoor and indoor P.E. Kit in school all week. P.E. will be on Wednesdays. There are times when children will not take part if they do not have the right clothes. Thank you.
HOMEWORK: Spellings will be given as homework on a Monday and tested the following Monday. Times Tables will be tested each Friday. By the end of Year 3, children need to be able to recall their 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 x tables. Please try to hear your child read 4-5 times a week for 10 minutes. Children earn dojos for each time they have read at home. Homework is given each half term and we ask that children complete two tasks from the sheet. Thank you.
