Helping at home
These are the key areas in which you can support your child in preparation for starting school:
- Writing our names, in LOWER case letters NOT all in capitals please.
- Correct letter formation, remembering to start at the bottom in preparation for cursive script
- Recognising letter sounds s, a, t, i, p, n, c k, e, h, r, m, d, g, o, u, l, f, b, j, o, z, w, v, y, x, and some familiar words - mum, dad and advertising logos.
- Recognising, ordering and using numbers to 10 or more.
- Gaining independence when dressing/undressing in readiness for changing for PE in Reception
