Computing

Miss Williams and Mrs. Collins share the leadership of ICT and Computing.

We use a range of resources to deliver the curriculum and to ensure the pupils acquire a wide repertoire of skills and confidences.  The 'Switched onto Computing' scheme of work offers the pupils opportunities to apply their computing and ICT skills to projects involving photography, communication, App design, art and music. We use other resources to supplement this scheme including work by Simon Haughton.

We have a specialist teacher, Mrs Copley, who comes into school to work alongside the teachers to deliver the coding aspect of the curriculum. Pupils are increasingly confident in the use of scratch to create code and design programmes. Miss Copley also delivers an ICT Club on Tuesday mornings before school and supports our digital leaders - children chosen to support others in Computing becuase they have stood out as having good ICT skills.

The pupils use hand held technology to access a wide variety of Apps which enhance the delivery of the wider curriculum.

e-safety is a high priority and lessons are delivered on a regular basis to all classes using the Digital Literacy resources. An overview of this provision can be found for the key age phases below.
