2W making soup

Class: 2W Year: 2019 - 2020

On Thursday 13th February the children were involved in the preparation of vegetables for our healthy vegetable soup. Many thanks to the adult helpers for the great 1:1 supervision that was required for the children to learn to peel and cut vegetables safely. We then took all of the chopped and prepared vegetables and used these to make soup in the classroom. The smell was DELICIOUS and so was the taste! Well done to the children, many of whom began by saying they didn't like soup, as every children tried a bit and many changed their minds and came back for seconds! It was great to hear that a lot of the children had prepared vegetables at home as well and of course this really does develop their fine motor skills for the future. Do have a go at home,if your child was inspired by the activity - especially at this chilly time of year!
