2W visit from Manchester Airport's education department
Today Jo from Manchester Airport, visited the children in Year 2 to do some work on budgeting for holidays. First the children were given a cheque for an amount of money to be used in the planning of their trip. To begin with they had to choose a destination using a travel brochure, after that they had to find flight costs and durations; the cost of hotel rooms; the prices for local visits and activities at their choice of destination and finally the cost of items from duty free. They had a great time making their decisions and were surprised at just how much some holidays - such as those to Florida - cost! A great activity and yet more experience of using money for real life situations. Many thanks to Jo, who had the patience of a saint and provided some lovely items for the children to 'buy' in the duty free shop! I just wish I could afford some of the gorgeous perfumes on special offer at £150!
