We are a vibrant, happy, welcoming school and provide a stimulating and inclusive environment for learning.
Etchells has been judged to be a GOOD school with OUTSTANDING Early Years and Leadership & Management by Ofsted in September 2016.
If you are considering Etchells for your child please do not hesitate to get in touch. We will be holding an Open Morning for prospective parents on Thursday 15th November 2018 at 9.30am, for September 2019 starters. We will begin with a presentation from myself and the Early Years Leader, followed by an opportunity to have a tour of the school and our fantastic outdoor areas.
We have an experienced, highly skilled and energetic team who work together to plan exciting and stimulating learning opportunities for our pupils. The changes that have been put in place over the last few years have had such a positive impact on the progress and attainment of our pupils. We work with the children to create our exciting curriculum which is builit around Knowledge, Exploration and Communication. We take pride in responding to the learner's interests and ensure that lessons are challenging, fun and purposeful.
We have a wonderful school environment, with well-developed areas in the school grounds to maximize the children's opportunities to both play and learn. We have an established Forest School on site which pupils from all year groups participate in. Our school incorporates a Resource Base for children with specific special educational needs which underpins our overarching philosophy of inclusion and Education for All. These children are integrated in all the classes through school where appropriate. We also have a 40 place nursery on site, as well as before and after school provision.
We recognise the importance of parental involvement in a child's education and provide regular communication regarding events, news and children's progress. Please use the website calendar for key school dates, to look at your child's class page and to find out more about our curriculum and policies. Links to our weekly newsletter can be found at the bottom of this page.
