What else can you do with a pumpkin?!

Class: RG Year: 2016 - 2017

The children were telling me all about their spooky pumpkins they had made but were surprised to know that a pumpkin has other uses too!

After reading the story 'Pumpkin Soup' by Helen Cooper the children suggested that we had a go at making Pumpkin soup to try.

We found a recipe using Google and followed the ingredients and instructions to make it. The building smelt amazing and soon our tummies were grumbling!

The children were keen to taste the soup and seemed somewhat surprised about how good it actually tasted!

The ingredients were:

2 onions sauteed in olive oil

1kg of peeled and deseeded pumpkin

750ml vegetable stock

A pinch of salt

147ml cream!

We also strengthened our wrists and arms hammering bolts into a pumpkin and even made a carriage for Cinderella!

Well done everyone for great team work!
