Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pigs

Lesson: Literacy

Class: 2W Year: 2021 - 2022

We have been reading and studying a fantastic book called three little wolves and the big bad pig. The children began creating buildings they had designed, then we took these out onto the playground to create a village. The idea of the story was that the buildings the wolves built were destroyed by the pig. When we had completed our own buildings we furnished the children with tools (inflatable) with which to destroy their houses. They were very keen to get on with it until we said that if they wanted to detroy someone elses home someone else would be able to destroy theirs - suddenly the mood changed. Eventually the children were given the choice to remove any homes they wanted to protect from the village and most took theirs to safety. After sometime spent bashing the remaining homes we discussed the children's feelings at different times during the activity. We looked at what it must be like if someone destorys your home ad you can do nothing about it. and we also discussed the importace of thinking about how others might feel if something of theirs gets broken or damaged.
