Y5 The Story of Stockport Immersion Day!

Today we became time travellers as we began to trace the history of Stockport back to The Industrial Revolution! Our first stop was wartime Stockport where we spent the day as evacuees during World War Two! After listening to Chamberlain's announcement, we were emotional to hear that we were being evacuated to the saftey of Heald Green. However when we got there, things weren't so bad! We went blackberry picking and designed a recipe using them (combined with other rationed ingredients). We enjoyed a 'make do and mend' session as well as looking at ways to keep ourselves entertained whilst in the air raid sheters!
