2W Chester Zoo visit

On Tuesday 7th March Year 2 visited Chester Zoo armed with IPADs, to continue their study of animals. They are producing powerpoint presentations to share information they have learnt about animal families and were tasked with taking photographs that could be used on the presentations. The weather was cold but beautifullu sunny and as the zoo was quiet it was a great opportunity to walk around almost unhindered! Lots of photographs were taken thorughout the day by the different groups walking around and the children had a wonderful time exploring and meeting many of the animals, though a few such as the cheetahs, proved a little illusive! Back at school much of our work for the next three weeks will involve designing our own zoo enclosures, thinking about habitat requirements and planning enrichment activities, as well as thinking about why Zoos exist and what we can do to protect out natural habitats and wildlife.
